ZAGREB

Zagreb is a beautiful and huge city. The cathedral is formed from sand coloured stone and has intricate and beautiful decorations around the front and spires. It is the tallest building in the city and has defensive walls surrounding it where monks and nuns were wandering around.
Zagreb Natural History museum had an absolutely massive collection of taxidermy birds and animals and so many skeletons of all sorts of creatures. There was squid in pickle jars, cockroaches pinned up with wasps of every size. Birds stuffed in nests, birds flying, birds sitting, birds standing, a huge shark, baby elephant, stuffed wolves and a room full of mirrors and hanging taxidermy sharks. Such a crazy ensemble of dead things.

I also went to see this museum after a friend recommended it to me.

On display were a collection of items people had donated to the museum that were associated with a broken relationship of some sort. Some were funny, some moving and some were heartbreaking. http://brokenships.com/
