LAKE BLED

Lake Bled was an escape from all the busy bustling roads, the city lights and noise. What is so nice about this place is you can escape the tourists. There is undergrowth which you can scramble down through and find grassy glades by the water. The water is so clear sometimes the shadows and shapes of huge fish can be seen and I sat for some time trying to draw the little fishes in the pools along the shore. Nature is everywhere, even the air feels cleaner and more natural.

The Vintgar Gorge
This gorge was 3km walk from where we stayed near the lake. Once again you can see the fish hovering and swaying in the waters current. It is crystal clear. The gorge is cool, there is a chill in the air that follows you along the trail as you walk the wooden walkway, despite the sweltering heat that surrounded you before you entered. Once out the end, I had a mad scramble along and up a rocky hillside, covered in forrest and gnarled roots. You come out high up and can see the village of Zasip and Bled far down below.
