SUMMER PROJECT BRIEF

BA Hons Illustration and Visual Communication Programme 2013/14
Level 6 Summer Project Deadline: 23rd September 2013

Welcome to your final year !

As a final year student, you will be expected to work alot more independently, create your own projects, write your own briefs, and articulate your ambitions with clarity. Where do you see yourself within the creative industry? How does this relate to you as an individual and a visual communicator?
Do you know your work well enough to be able to visualise and explain your ambitions?

This summer project will serve as an introduction to the level of thinking that is expected of you in your final year. We want to see challenging, honest and ambitious pieces that are a true representation of the directions you want to pursue.

You must consider all / some of the following questions:

What are you interested in?
What are your obsessions?
What books / music / films / art are you inspired by?
What exhibitions are you seeing?
Where are you getting your cultural information? Online? Magazines? Books? Blogs?
Who are you aiming your work at, who is your audience?
What do you want people to know when they view your work?
How does the work you are making fit into the creative industry?
What is the wider, social, cultural and critical context?
