ARTIST RESEARCH

I have been creating very anatomically correct observations of animals for this project using mainly black fine liners and dot work. Louise Pomeroy is a London based illustrator who graduated from Kingston. I found her work because she is a house illustrator at Super Superficial who have a mix of artists make designed for them. Like how bold her style is and how well observed and atomically correct her drawings are. Somehow, despite only using black, she makes her subjects come alive. I feel that I need to focus on this as with my dot work some of the creatures have become somewhat static, less natural.

Tim is a westminster graduate and he gave a talk to us last year. His observations of animals are incredible and the way he brings them together to create an overall image or scene. This year I want to really focus on my visual language and how I will bring my studies and drawings together for the final image. I know this is an area I struggle with, I seem to be able to observe and record things but adding to them to create an image is that challenge.
